New Teacher

South Africa is home to a wealth of passionate educators—from fresh graduates eager to gain experience, to skilled teachers seeking new opportunities, and seasoned professionals ready to mentor or take on locum roles.

It is our experience that many graduates, and others entering the teaching profession are on occasion uncertain about how to get 'into the system', connect with schools, be appointed to a post and/or receive mentorship and support to avoid the 'sink or swim' situation many new teachers find themselves in.

The future of education in this country lies in the hands of the next generation of passionate and committed educators who will continue to grow and nurture the leaders of tomorrow. ThinkTeacher would like to play its part in enabling new teachers to get settled into their teaching roles as quickly as possible, thereby also enhancing the value of the teaching profession.

By completing your ThinkTeacher profile below, you will be able to specify your particular areas of training, at what level you are able to teach, and what additional assistance you are interested in. In addition, you will indicate your preferences in terms of your geographical area (if applicable), so that you are linked up with schools in your area, should there be a position available.
