Innovation, utilisation and dissemination of the available fares and rate structures currently at our disposal are an all too important issue to our travellers today. Maximum consideration is also extended in flexibility of movement essential in today’s ever-changing landscape driven by COVID, whether directly or indirectly.

Owner – Mandy Thomas

Cirrus Travel was created in 2008, in proud association with e-Travel. Between us, we have 35+ years of travel experience which came together to create a unique business model. I, Mandy Thomas, the owner and managing member, am a product of an intensive work culture, having spent the first 19 years of my career within the Bidvest stable; 12 years with Rennies Travel and 7 with BCD Connex Travel. A need for a different challenge was the cornerstone of starting and managing my own business, and hence Cirrus Travel was formed. For the past 13 years I have run a boutique travel agency with dedication, commitment, and a high degree of personal and individual attention for my clients – qualities which I am looking forward to sharing with the Think Teacher community.

Sales and Marketing – Gillian Doig

My teaching career commenced in 1989 and I taught in a full-time capacity until 1999, after which I taught and coached on a part time basis until my “semi-retirement” in 2008, when I decided to become a full-time mom to our very busy and active children. I have remained actively involved in teaching, coaching, managing and event planning over the past 13 years at various schools and companies in and around Johannesburg and have also (luckily) managed to travel the world (children et al) extensively during this time, for family holidays, school sports tours and recently, most excitingly as a member of Team SA at the Tokyo Olympics. Our family firmly believes that travel is one of the best forms of education – a sentiment shared by many people who have been lucky enough to travel. I am currently working for my sister, Mandy Thomas, in her boutique travel company CIRRUS TRAVEL, in a marketing and sales role. I am equally as passionate about travel and teaching, and the opportunity to be involved with the Think Teacher initiative, where I can combine both passions, whilst providing a dedicated service to the teaching community of South Africa, is most exciting.
